My name is Bryan Twente. I am originally from Malibu, California; however, I have lived and worked in Naples, Florida for the last 20 years. My path was a winding one,
but what ultimately brought me to Naples was the game of tennis.
A lot happened for me during 1995-1996. I graduated from Clemson University where I played tennis on the team, I spent time teaching tennis in England, Copenhagen, North Carolina, Greenwich and South Hampton and played satellite tennis tournaments. When my summer job finished in September of 1996 I was at a professional crossroads. I needed to work by teaching tennis and wasn’t sure where to go. This is when my friend, and former tennis teammate, George Lampert suggested I come to Naples. George had grown up in Naples and was very well connected to the tennis community.
Between timing, luck, and perseverance I have been blessed to work and teach tennis at 3 great places for the past 20 years. The Registry Resort, The Club and Spa at Fiddler’s Creek
and most recently Grey Oaks Country Club.
Now in September of 2019 I find myself at another professional crossroads. I have chosen to do something I have never done before which is to start my own business called
Let’s Go Bocce!
How bocce ball became a part of my life is its own story, but one of the things I enjoy most about bocce is how the sport brings people together very much in the same way tennis does. Tennis will continue to be an important part of my life, but now Bocce Ball has joined it.
